Metamorphosis; Fearless Evolution is a one-of-a-kind Chicago-based dance experience that provides students with access to the professional dance world.
Our Story
Founded in 2018 by Krissie Odegard Geye and Carrie Muntz, Metamorphosis; Fearless Evolution is the premier youth initiative of the Trifecta Dance Collective. Born from a vision to redefine the youth dance landscape, the event gathers students from across the nation for an immersive, non-competitive weekend that prioritizes artistic growth over trophies.
At its heart, Metamorphosis exists to bridge the gap between competitive or conservatory training and the professional dance world. Participants are provided a space where young artists are empowered to take risks, explore new techniques, and nurture their creativity in a supportive, collaborative environment.
The Experience
Metamorphosis is a multidimensional event crafted for students, directors, and parents/guardians. We offer exclusive access to the professional industry through:
Master Classes & Seminars: Learning from elite faculty and industry leaders.
Performance Showcase: Solo and group performances highlighting technical excellence and innovative choreography.
The Metamorphosis Performance Ensemble (MPE): A curated company of dancers who rehearse and perform a professional full-length concert piece, complete with custom costuming and professional photoshoots.
SOAR Partnership: A unique collegiate and professional fair (including our SOAR Directory) that connects dancers directly with future career and educational opportunities.
Professional Company Audition (High School Seniors Only): Graduating Senior dancers are considered for a position with Trifecta Dance Collective’s official second company, TDC2. The program offers undergraduate dancers the opportunity to gain professional performance experience while continuing to pursue their educational goals.
The Collective Contemporary Awards
We believe in validating the creative work happening in the youth contemporary sector. Through our partnership with national affiliates, we present the Collective Contemporary Awards, a prestigious recognition of innovative choreography and performance.
The weekend culminates in a dazzling, "Oscar-Style" Red Carpet Awards Ceremony. This celebration features live performances by our faculty and scholarship partners, the announcement of award winners, and the distribution of hundreds of thousands of dollars in life-changing opportunities.

Our Co-Founders
Krissie Odegard Geye is the Founder and Artistic Director of the Expand Community Arts Alliance, a nationally recognized group of arts organizations dedicated to sparking community dialogue through art. She oversees the four organizational branches within the alliance: The Dance and Music Academy, The Trifecta Dance Collective, the Metamorphosis; Fearless Evolution experience, and Phosphorescent Theatrical Productions.
The Expand Community Arts Alliance's four companies share a mission: to ignite community dialogue through art. Working together, they inspire connection and catalyze social change. This is achieved through deepened partnerships with diverse community organizations, raising awareness, fostering artistic leadership, and expanding the reach of compassion, empathy, and artistic integrity throughout the alliance.
Aa a presenter and master clinician and adjudicator, Krissie has shared her expertise at the International Dance Pedagogy Conference and Performance Festival (Peridance, NYC), the Big River Dance Festival (West Virginia), CRU Dance Regionals and Nationals, and the United States Tournament of Dance National Finals (Atlantic City).
Her choreography has been featured at the Spring Choreography Showcase at Peridance (NYC), Jennifer Mueller's "Hatch" series (NYC), the Detroit Dance Festival, the Minnesota Fringe Festival, the Big River Dance Festival, and the Exchange Choreography Festival (Tulsa, OK). She has also conceptualized and produced four full-length works at Anita's Way in Times Square and was the awarded first place in in the Ovation TV-sponsored National Choreography Competition.
Carrie Muntz, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, began her training with the Atlanta Ballet and continued training in the summers with Houston Ballet, Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Paul Taylor Dance Company, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Luna Negra Dance Theater. In 2011, Carrie graduated cum laude from Butler University with a BFA in Dance Performance and a minor in Psychology. After graduation, Carrie choreographed/danced professionally with Louisville Ballet, Thodos Dance Chicago, Project606 Dance, and Nomi Dance Company. In 2016, Carrie co-founded Trifecta Dance Collective and, in 2018, Metamorphosis Fearless Evolution with Krissie Odegard Geye. Carrie is also the Owner/Creator of Shine Your Light Dance Competition.
